The 3 day Rwanda gorilla tour is the most popular tour package for most travelers into Rwanda. The main activities are gorilla tracking, genocide memorial tour and Golden monkey tracking or adventurous hike to Dian Fossey Tombs. You can also choose to explore Musanze caves, or go for Mount Bishoke hiking.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will enjoy city tour to genocide memorial centers in Kigali, later transfer to Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park) in northwestern part of the country on the border Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The national park is also known as home for the mountain gorilla. It also hosts five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), which are covered in rain forest and bamboo. Volcanoes Nationalk Park was the base for the famous American zoologist Dian Fossey. Overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Virunga Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or Hotel la Palme or Kinigi Guest House.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will head off to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for briefing on rules fallowed while you’re in the forest with gorillas and Gorilla group allocation. After this you will be joined by a ranger guide and enter into the forest for a gorilla trekking adventure. An amazing trek through the refined foothills of the Virunga provides inspiring view in all directions. Gorilla trekking is somehow tiresome however once you meet the Gorillas, you will surely ignore all the hardships you encountered to see the Gorillas. When your track and find these beautiful creatures you’re permitted to stay with them for a maximum of one hour for observing them and take photos. After all this, you will return back to the lodge for late lunch and toward the evening you will go to Lake Bunyoyi sightseeing, you will watch a lot of bird species. You will have dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Virunga Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or Hotel la Palme or Kinigi Guest House.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed for golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park before transferring back to Kigali for a city tour and last minute shopping, then connect to Kigali International airport for your flight back home.
